For A Good Paint Job Look For The Trade Body Logo

Fresh paintwork is often top of the list for homeowners looking to brighten their properties as Spring approaches, but finding a trusted professional to do the job can be a chore.

Decorators displaying the distinct red, blue and white Painting and Decorating Association logo have measured up to the trade body’s testing standards to prove they are capable of delivering a good finish – and can be trusted in the home.

All PDA members have to meet set standards to measure up to the Association’s high requirements of competency.

Paul Marsden, chief executive of the PDA, said: “Painters and decorators come into people’s homes – and householders want reassurance that the person or company they have selected to carry out the work is to be trusted.

“Membership of the PDA verifies that an individual or company meets a set criteria and ensures that professionalism comes as standard. Ultimately, this brings piece of mind for consumers that the painter they have selected is a genuine one.

“There are stringent processes in place that individuals and companies need to meet in order to join us and membership of the Association is not automatic.”

The PDA has a telephone number where members of the public can check that a painter is a bona fide member of the Association – 024 7635 3776.

ENDS

The Painting and Decorating Association, which has its headquarters in Nuneaton, was established in July 2002, following a merger of the British Decorators’ Association and the Painting & Decorating Federation. The British Decorators’ Association was originally founded in 1894.

The PDA is Britain’s largest trade body, dedicated to the painting and decorating trade. Members include sole traders through to large-scale national contractors employing hundreds of operatives.

Decorators looking to become members of the PDA are rigorously vetted prior to admission. Members are committed to the highest standards in health and safety practice, as well as training development.

The PDA is proud of its long history and high standards, and a registered member can be relied upon to do a good professional job at a fair price.
